The book chronicles a year of the life of Laura, a sixteen-year-old student in London, as the UK imposes carbon rationing in the wake of weather-related disasters. The stresses of rationing and extreme weather tear at the social fabric of Europe and England, while Laura’s family is torn apart as her father loses his job and her selfish older sister refuses to adapt. Laura just wants to live a normal life, attract the attention of the fetching and accomplished boy next door, and practice with her friends in her garage band.

The BedZed pavillion is a housing development in Hackbridge in Sutton that has encorporated ways to reduce energy use – while also generating all that’s used on site to be as efficient as possible. 

Take a tour of the UK’s first mainstream eco-village. Located in south London, BedZED is a sustainable live/work community with solutions for food, travel and waste. Environmental organisation, BioRegional, who are partners in the project, lead the tour.

Voici le plan de synthèse dont vous pouvez vous inspirer pour construire votre Prise de Parole en continu au baccalauréat. Je vous rappelle que les ES doivent prendre la parole 5 minutes pour présenter la notion. Les L ont 10 minutes pour effectuer le même exercice. Cette PPC est suivi d’une phase d’interaction avec l’examinateur de 5 minutes pour les ES et 10 minutes pour les L. On pourra alors vous demander d’apporter des précisions sur un point particulier, de revenir sur un document, de parler de votre expérience ou de donner votre avis sur une question en lien avec la notion étudiée. 

Les ES n’ont pas les documents sous les yeux. Les L auront en leur possession un exemplaire de l’ensemble des documents étudiés. 

Nous consacrerons l’heure de vendredi à la présentation de cette épreuve. Je vous invite à imprimer le document ci-joint et à l’apporter en classe ainsi que la fiche méthode ‘presenting the notion you have to deal with’ que vous trouverez sur ce blog dans cette rubrique terminale:
